In 2025, the Association of Industrial Hygienists, Lagos Nigeria (AIHN), https://aihn.org/ introduced OHTA courses to enhance the professional development offer for their members. The courses have been held on-line to improve availability to members in remote locations and keep the costs down. Congratulations to the OHTA trainers Matthew Olota and Anya Ifeyinwa for their fabulous effort and commitment to improve occupational hygiene capacity .
Many of the AIHN members work in the oil industry as Nigeria is one of the top 10 largest oil producers in the world with crude oil and petroleum products. With the focus of international oil companies on occupational hygiene, several AIHN members have already achieved their ICertOHTA with an aspiration to achieve their CIH to improve their career opportunities.
