A total of 15 national occupational hygiene associations across the world have now been approved as members of OHTA following the recent constitutional changes. This is a remarkable response to OHTA’s invitation and has been welcomed by the OHTA board.
Eight IOHA member associations were approved as members of OHTA on 2nd March, joining seven that had previously been approved. Applications for membership continue to arrive; the Norwegian association has recently signed the agreement and several others have expressed enthusiasm and interest.
Membership entitles associations to vote at general meetings (including in the election of Directors of OHTA) so it’s a real opportunity for associations to get more involved and have their say in the future direction of OHTA. By signing the agreement the associations have confirmed that they are committed to promoting international training and qualifications in occupational hygiene, support the objectives of OHTA, and will encourage, promote and support the use of OHTA approved training modules and qualifications.
To date (6th March) the member associations are:

- British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS)
- Finnish Occupational Hygiene Society (FOHS)
- French Occupational Hygienists Society (SOFHYT)
- Korean Industrial Hygiene Association (KIHA)
- Netherlands Occupational Hygiene Society (NVvA)
- New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society (NZOHS)
- Occupational & Environmental Health Society (OEHS), Singapore
- Occupational Hygiene Society of Ireland (OHSI)
- Southern African Institute of Occupational Hygienists (SAIOH)
- Spanish Association of Industrial Hygiene (AEHI)
- Swedish Association of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (SYMF)
- Taiwan Occupational Hygiene Association (TOHA)
