Course Overview
Build specialized knowledge in identifying, assessing, and controlling occupational exposure to asbestos and other fibrous materials. This internationally recognized OHTA course equips occupational hygiene, safety, and asbestos professionals with practical skills in fibre monitoring, sampling, risk assessment, remediation practices, and asbestos management to help protect worker health and ensure compliance with industry standards
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of OHTA504, participants will be able to:
- Describe the properties, uses, and health effects of asbestos and other industrial fibres.
- Evaluate occupational exposure risks associated with asbestos and fibrous materials.
- Conduct asbestos sampling and apply appropriate fibre monitoring techniques.
- Interpret air monitoring and clearance testing results for asbestos-related work.
- Apply effective control measures and safe work practices for asbestos management and remediation activities.
- Advise on the safe management of asbestos-containing materials in workplaces and buildings.
- Demonstrate an understanding of current good practice and regulatory requirements relating to asbestos control
