The OHTA 506 course content includes a comprehensive overview of ergonomics principles and their application in the design of work, equipment, and the workplace. It covers:

Physical, cognitive, and organizational ergonomics: Understanding the human capabilities and limitations.
Risk assessment: Identifying physical, cognitive, organizational, and environmental contributors to ergonomics risks.
Musculoskeletal disorders: Explaining causes and methods of reducing risks through workplace layout and environmental aspects.
Manual handling: Assessing manual handling risks and work-related upper-limb disorders.
Workplace and equipment design: Reviewing workstations, tools, seating, vehicle cabs, display screen work, and information displays.
Environmental factors: Considering lighting, noise, thermal conditions, vibration, sensory factors, and PPE.
Programme evaluation: Using training, health information, performance indicators, audits, and cost-benefit measures to evaluate the ergonomics programme.
